Jonix VCI
A programmable vehicle communication interface designed as the trusted hardware bridge between Jonix Trace, JVR, workshop equipment, and the vehicle’s diagnostic and communication networks.
More than a generic OBD adapter
The objective is not to reinvent every circuit unnecessarily. It is to own the software-facing behaviour, connection quality, update path, device identity, cable experience, and the integration required by Jonix automotive systems.
Vehicle communication
Bridge supported OBD, CAN, and manufacturer-specific communication between the vehicle and Jonix software.
Programmable hardware
Use updateable firmware and a controlled hardware abstraction layer instead of relying entirely on opaque generic adapters.
Modular connectivity
Support replaceable and customisable OBD extensions, USB, network, wireless, and future workshop connection options.
Diagnostic reliability
Expose connection state, voltage, bus activity, protocol state, device health, and recoverable session diagnostics.
Secure device identity
Allow trusted pairing, provisioning, firmware updates, licensing, and device ownership through the wider Jonix ecosystem.
Multiple form factors
Research compact workshop interfaces, tablet-oriented equipment, vehicle-installed units, and related cable/accessory products.
One interface, several Jonix workflows
Jonix Trace can use the VCI for workshop diagnostics and tuning. JVR can use compatible hardware for vehicle telemetry and configuration. Jonix Garage can preserve device-backed diagnostic evidence against the correct work order, while Nucleus can support provisioning, updates, and private workshop services.
Jonix Trace
Diagnostics, live data, tests, coding, adaptations, and calibration workflows.
JVR
Vehicle state, telemetry, configuration, runtime diagnostics, and installed-system communication.
Jonix Garage
Vehicle and work-order context, reports, device records, and workshop history.
Nucleus
Private services, device provisioning, firmware distribution, backups, and workshop deployment.
